Wallpapering
Achieving a flawless wallpaper finish requires precision and expertise that go far beyond a standard DIY project, which is why RP Painting & Decorating offers dedicated professional wallpapering services across Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire.
Whether you want a striking contemporary feature wall in a Leamington Spa townhouse or full-room coverage for a traditional property in Bishop’s Itchington, our approach is built on meticulous preparation and technical skill. We understand that a wall covering’s longevity depends on the quality of the surface beneath it; therefore, our process begins with comprehensive wall preparation, including professionally stripping old paper, repairing minor plaster imperfections, and applying the correct sizing agents to ensure optimal adhesion.
Our expertise spans a vast range of materials, from standard patterned papers and heavy-duty vinyls to luxury wide-width fabrics and intricate bespoke murals that require exact mathematical alignment.
Door Stripping
Restoring the natural beauty of original timber features is a hallmark of a high-quality interior renovation, and our professional door stripping service provides a clean, effective alternative to the arduous task of manual sanding.
Over the years, many period properties in areas like Leamington Spa, Warwick, and Stratford-upon-Avon have had their beautiful solid wood doors hidden under thick layers of lead-based paint or discoloured varnish. At RP Painting & Decorating, we specialise in carefully removing these coatings to reveal the wood’s intricate grain and character.
This service is essential for homeowners seeking a rustic, natural wood finish or a perfectly smooth, “blank canvas” surface before applying a fresh, modern paint system. Once we strip the doors back to their raw state, we provide expert advice on the best next steps, whether that means high-clarity oils, traditional waxes, or a durable contemporary wood stain to match your existing interior decor.
Exterior Painting
Protecting your property’s exterior from unpredictable British weather is essential to maintaining its structural integrity and market value.
At RP Painting & Decorating, we provide high-quality exterior painting services across South Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire, specialising in everything from traditional masonry and render to timber weatherboarding and metalwork. Our process begins with a rigorous substrate assessment, followed by thorough cleaning, power-washing, and repair of any cracks or surface-blown masonry.
We use premium, weather-resistant paint systems—such as breathable silane-based coatings or durable wood stains—designed to withstand UV exposure and heavy rainfall without peeling or fading. Whether you are refreshing a period cottage in a Cotswold village or updating a modern commercial unit in Leamington Spa, our professional finish delivers a sharp, clean look that significantly boosts curb appeal. Choosing a specialist exterior decorator provides a long-lasting barrier against damp and decay, saving you significant maintenance costs over time.
Painting & Decorating
For homeowners and businesses throughout Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire, RP Painting & Decorating provides a comprehensive interior and exterior decorating service that prioritises a high-end, durable finish.
Based in Bishop’s Itchington, we bring professional expertise to every project, whether it’s a single-room refresh in a modern Leamington Spa apartment or a full historical restoration of a period property in Warwick or Stratford-upon-Avon. Our approach is defined by meticulous attention to detail, starting with thorough surface preparation—filling, sanding, and priming—to ensure a flawless, long-lasting final coat of paint.
Choosing a professional decorator means investing in quality that protects your walls while significantly increasing your home’s aesthetic and financial value.
Timber Resin Repairs
For homeowners in Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire dealing with wet rot or structural decay in external joinery, our specialist timber resin repair service offers a high-performance alternative to costly full replacements.
At RP Painting & Decorating, we use advanced epoxy resin systems—such as Repair Care or Timbabuild—to permanently restore windows, door frames, and architectural timber features that have succumbed to the elements. Unlike traditional wood fillers, which often shrink and fall out over time, our resin restoration process involves removing the decayed wood back to a “sound” substrate and chemically bonding a durable, flexible resin that moves naturally with the timber.
Our precision-led approach ensures the repaired section is structurally reinforced and virtually invisible once decorated, extending your external woodwork’s lifespan for decades and maintaining your home’s weather-tight integrity.
Timber Restoration
Preserving the natural character of interior and exterior woodwork requires a specialist touch that goes far beyond a simple coat of varnish. At RP Painting & Decorating, we offer comprehensive timber restoration services across Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire, reviving the original beauty of oak beams, staircases, and period joinery. Our process begins by carefully removing aged, flaking finishes and deep-seated grime, then precision-sanding to create a smooth, uniform surface that highlights the wood’s unique grain.
We use high-performance oils, traditional waxes, and modern UV-resistant stains to deliver a finish that is as durable as it is beautiful. Whether you are looking to restore the warm glow of a Victorian bannister in Leamington Spa or protect the external timber framing of a Warwick cottage, our expert techniques prevent drying, cracking, and moisture damage. Choosing professional restoration over replacement helps preserve the historical integrity and value of your property’s woodwork for years to come.
Wooden Windows Stripped/Painted
Wooden windows define period properties across Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire, but years of over-painting can lead to seized frames, obscured details, and unsightly flaking. At RP Painting & Decorating, we specialise in stripping and repainting timber windows, including traditional sash and casement styles. Our process involves carefully removing accumulated paint layers from the stiles, rails, and glazing bars, restoring the wood’s original profile so the windows can operate smoothly again.
After stripping and sanding, we apply a high-performance exterior paint system designed specifically for joinery. This includes moisture-regulating primers and flexible topcoats that expand and contract with the timber, preventing the cracking and peeling common with standard DIY paints. Whether you are restoring Victorian sashes in Leamington Spa or protecting modern hardwood frames in a Warwick cottage, our professional finish provides a robust weather seal and a sharp, clean aesthetic. Investing in professional window maintenance protects your home from rot while significantly enhancing its curb appeal and energy efficiency.
Tiling
Precision tiling underpins any high-quality kitchen or bathroom renovation, and at RP Painting & Decorating, we provide specialist tiling services across Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire. Whether you want a contemporary metro-tile splashback in a Leamington Spa kitchen or large-format porcelain floor tiling for a Warwick hallway, our approach is defined by exacting standards and technical accuracy. We understand that a perfect finish starts with what is underneath; therefore, we ensure all substrates are correctly levelled, primed, and—where necessary—waterproofed using professional tanking systems to prevent future moisture ingress.
Our expertise covers a vast range of materials, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and intricate mosaic tiles. We take immense pride in our layout planning, ensuring symmetrical cuts and perfectly aligned grout lines that enhance your room’s architectural flow. From Bishop’s Itchington to Stratford-upon-Avon, we provide a clean, efficient service that minimises disruption to your home while delivering a robust, easy-to-clean surface. By choosing a professional installer, you ensure your tiles are not only aesthetically stunning but also correctly bonded to withstand the rigours of daily use for years to come.
